Situation

Over the course of several years working directly with Marian University faculty to create a vast array of promotional materials that extended beyond traditional recruitment techniques, we experienced growing word-of-mouth interest in the various enlightening and inspiring pieces that we produced and published. We needed a way to gather all of those resources into a single place so that we could more effectively market the suite to educators throughout the state. In other words, we were looking for a way to more effectively influence the influencers.

Solution

We created a page on the website specifically for this array of resources. We gave it a cleaner slug “educational-resources” and created a business card for it that we could give to teachers and other educators.

We published almost 100 different tools, and offered to send as many copies of any of them to anyone visiting the webpage. All they had to do was email the Admissions Office with an address to which we could send them and the number of pieces they would like to receive. We then fulfilled requests on a regular basis as they came in.

Success

This webpage enabled us to even more effectively and efficiently distribute the marketing materials we had developed with faculty. Where each piece was built with a specific distribution mechanism in mind, this webpage created opportunity for even wider distribution beyond the obvious, original -scope. We watched traffic to this webpage grow as word got out and drive additional traffic to the overall website. The webpage became such an important resource both externally and internally to university faculty and staff who drew on it regularly that it continues to this day (as of this posting), even years later.
